the oxford handook of acute medicine
he is drawing a diagram of nerve pathways in the brain. it would be easier, he says, if the brain wasn't so complicated. it makes his hurt just by thinking about it and he is sure when he is finished his diagram it will not look like a functional map of the brain, only his deepening confusion.

Sounds interesting - but beyond me. I'm reading (not unrelated, I suspect) The Emeror's New Mind by Roger Penrose. Bought it at a car boot sale last week.
I've just realised, I've already got a functional map of the brain on my blog, here!
I did an OU course in neurophysiology back in 1972, although I majored in geology and geochemistry. Good combination, I always thought.
a geologist? everything falls into place! just for you

(sent to me by a geologist who was dismayd at just how accurate this portrayal actually was)
brilliant!
There's a lot of truth in the Uncyclopedia article - obviously written by a geologist. I was librarian at the British Geological Survey for 15 years, before moving to the Botanics.
I'm with Roxana. Excellent.
