rain!

days of work looking forward to the bike and now stuck in the house with the rain. i did actually do some work on my wet bike yesterday but it's not done what with it not being winter and all and i don't want to wreck the others with water (i.e. i'm too lazy to do a proper cleaning job!)

of course i should be writing or painting or somesuch but i have an overwhelming urge to doze. eat and watch dumbass movies....

virtual cycling counts, switch the tour on.

...what are your thoughts about 'chain-gate'? personally i actually like that road racing has so many unwritten rules and codes of conduct. gives the thing a greater sense of drama and romance.

when i saw it i was genuinely shocked that such a thing should happen. it was just so.... against the spirt.

but that said he was in an odd gear for an attack like that and changing, if that was what he was doing, was plain daft. and at the end of the day it's a race.

even so, i'm still unsure. if i wanted to see that sort of thing i'd watch the football! lol

I get the impression Contador is pretty uneasy about it too from what he's said/his body language. Probably not uneasy enough for it to make a difference, though.

I think it's a rest day today, so there'll just be highlights. Sod's Law. Tomorrow -a day of unmissable TDF- will be a nice day.

I had a similar experience yesterday. Ended up dropping off on the sofa and sleeping all afternoon. And why not, I said to myself when I woke up.

yes, i'm not going to be missing tomorrow even if the sun's shining. i think i may trainer later assuming the weather doesn;t let up and in the morning try and squeeze in a sixty before the mountain fireworks begin!

yeh sorry, forgot it's a rest day. still you could watch that youtube clip over and over!

this has been the most exciting tour in recent years, just a shame that wiggins doesn't seem to have the same form as last year. enjoy the turbo/sofa.

great news! a trip out to the lbs reveals my specc'd up rohloff'd touring/winter bike is finished. pin a mudguard on it and i'm away this afternoon rain or no rain!

wiggins? needs some questions asking. i thought his attitude this year was severely wanting, that being reflected in the sky team generally. they may have money but it doesn't mean anything without results. that said, excellent tour for thomas lofquist who should be given his head tomorrow and allowed t climb up the gc

Yes -the way he's talked from day 1 got my eyebrows going up. I thought he was just playing down his expectations to avoid the classic English media "build up a sportsman so you can knock him down" syndrome, but now I wonder. Something a team official said the other day about "issues" got me wondering, though. Is he fighting/stress/anxiety/depression or some such problem?
