zao wou-ki
i thought zao wou-ki would be some young lad but that couldn't be further from the truth. ahead of his time and no mistake!

heather murray
yes, it's pictures on sticks. but i've really fallen for these by heather murray. there's something sad and whimsical...

jean noviel
i can't find any details on jean noviel so i'm not sure if these are paintings or photographs that have been worked on. whichever, if there's a time when i'm stuck for some narrative it's here i'll be looking!

nicola samori
nicola samori - neo baroque i think they describe her as. i don't much care for that term. what she does do is play with the classics in such a way as not to seem over artificial but engages the viewer both in her perspective but also the originals she works from

france jodoin

richard burlet
richard burlet's work is not what i'd maybe think that i'd be taken with, but the colours! the textures! i love these

mira schendel
i'm having a blue end of week, not least because of this by mira schendel. i'll be getting my paint out shortly and trying to achieve something like this! luminous!

leston japaljarri spencer
this is called warnu jukurrpa (snake dreaming). i have no idea what it symbolizes to leston japaljarri spencer but it's so similar, yet at the same time different, to some of my own drawings i couldn't look past it. if i had this on my wall i'd hypnotize myself!

tetsuo aoki
i like tetsuo aoki's figures but i particularly like this image because, for me at any rate, getting these circular things balanced and looking natural is always tricky
