singing and the like

the great potential of the net shows itself yet again with dominic's idea for a web singalong of purcell. it's a great idea and one day i really will need to try and get myself taught to use all that software magubbinry.

particularly because i was very much taken with the soundslides here (and the bike ride of course). i'd highly recommend, no really stop what you're doing and take the time, to have a browse of this guys soundslides. they are great and demonstrate (to me anyway) just how superfluous tv is these days

Thanks for the plug!

I have created a crude "quick guide to magubbinry" - well, how to use Audacity to make mp3s here. It's not very different to blog magubbinry really - most computer programmes are the same: you open them and mess around pressing the buttons till they work. Then you try to remember what you did and do it again next time. As you probably realise by now I'm not one of those people who sit down and read the manual! :)

ps love the word magubbinry. I'll definitely remember it and use it.

pps procrastination is the thief of time :)

Sorry about this: I really ought to get all my thoughts together before posting one comment!

nice one! i shall read that again and try it. i've been inspired by your soundcloud productions and rather fancy having a go at doing something vaguely musical what with me having a posh mike and my piano being midi (whatever that is) and all....

Immediately drawn to the tea-taster one as I know Porlock very well. Fantastic! The shirt, the man, the "special tea-tasting equipment" (a mug, a bowl, and er... two old sixpences). Experts in their field, whatever field, rule!
Nice link.
I can't even put one of those youtube clips on a blog, so no chance with Dominic's stuff, though I'd like to have done it.

magubbinry's a Ronseal word - it's new but you instantly know what it means.

Ooh, just a little too conscious of his own look for me, though I was warming to him until UGH the fingernail shot. Can't be doing with that.

Going to dipping in and out of that site for some time to come, I fancy.
